May my heart be so tender, that I might take this in.

I want to feel this beauty and not rush past it,

And to receive what it has for me.

Just as wind and water soften the most jagged rock,

I will let this beauty transform me, change me, move me, and make me.

So I may be formed like canyon walls,
With sharp edges smoothed into grooves and ridges,

Where other’s hands may drag and trace

the outline of where I’ve been,

who I’ve become,

and where I'm going.
